JBT Marel is adding storage and mechanical space at its Fairway Avenue building in Lakeland

At 400 Fairway Ave in Lakeland, work is underway to add attached storage space and an attached mechanical room onto an existing building. The permit describes building over areas that are currently asphalt — the storage addition floor stays asphalt, while the mechanical room and an adjacent equipment pad get new concrete. Electrical, plumbing and mechanical work were split into separate applications.

Along with the addition, three internally illuminated wall signs reading JBT Marel were installed to replace older signage on the building. Interior fire sprinkler work tied to the addition has also been permitted, one phase of which is recorded as complete.

The main construction permit is in the inspections stage, and the sign permits are closed as complete. An earlier non-residential site plan filing for the same work was withdrawn.
