Polk County is developing the Eagle Lake Maintenance Facility at 2993-3000 Sheffield Road, near Winter Haven. Records from the county describe it as a proposed office and maintenance complex for the Polk County Public Works Department, laid out across a 6.9-acre project area on roughly 49.88 acres the county owns.
Several building permits are on file and in the inspections stage: an office building (A), a maintenance building (B), a utility carport (C) and a pole barn (D), plus the installation of two 15,000-gallon above-ground storage tanks. The Southwest Florida Water Management District approved the project's environmental resource permit in July 2026.
With permits in inspections and the site plan filed, the campus appears to be actively under construction.
